Bob Stock Wins Reserve Grand at BNAPEX

BNAPEX 2025 is the annual convention of the British North America Philatelic Society, held this year in Vernon BC. There was a strong Victoria contingent and our own Bob Stock took a Gold medal plus the Allan Steinhart Reserve Grand award for his seven frame exhibit titled “The Postmarks of Oxford County, Upper Canada.”

Other VSC members also won awards. Richard Thompson was awarded a Vermeil for his stunning examination of the printings of the Large Queens issue of 1868 through 1897. David Biltek won a Silver medal for his “Variations on the Key of G” study of Official Overprints. Bruce Pollock won Silver for his postal history exhibit titled “Maitland-Dougall, the Story of a Remarkable Family from the Cowichan Valley.” A list of all winners (known as the ‘Palmares’) can be found here.

In addition to his medals, Bob was also presented with a framed photograph taken by well-known philatelist Ken Pugh (right). Jurist David Hobden (left) made the presentation.
