
Meetings
Visitors are always welcome.
1st Thursday:
7:00 pm at Broad View Church Hall, 3703 St. Aiden’s Street, Saanich. (Map)
Meetings are held in lower level hall using a door on the south side. The main church doors off the parking lot cannot be used to access the hall. See this diagram for entry instructions and follow the blue arrow in the diagram. Members with mobility issues should park in the spaces on the east side of the building.
There will often be material for sale at the beginning of each meeting and time for a chat with other collectors. The meeting will conclude with an auction of up to 50 lots.
3rd Friday:
7:00 pm at Windsor Park Pavilion (second floor), 2451 Windsor Road, Oak Bay, two blocks west of the Oak Bay Marina. (Map)
The format for all second meetings of the month is a formal one-person presentation or program on a specific philatelic topic. See the latest program listing below for the upcoming presentations.
There will often be material for sale at the beginning of each meeting and time for a chat with other collectors. A silent auction of up to 50 lots will run during the meeting.

February 5 @ 7:00 pm – (Broad View Church Hall) Show & Tell night on the themes of the Letter ‘Z’ and/or ‘Flags.’ Auction to follow.
February 20 @ 7:00 pm – (Windsor Park) Maple Bay artist Bex Morley will visit and talk about her design process for the 2025 Christmas stamp issued by Canada Post.
March 5 @ 7:00 pm – (Broad View Church Hall) Show & Tell night on the themes of the Letter ‘Y’ and/or ‘Sports.’ Plus, Larry Margetish will explain the Opal Stamp Vending Machines. Auction to follow.
March 20 @ 7:00 pm – (Windsor Park) A presentation on “Steps Towards Quantifying the Colours & Shades of Postage Stamps” by Jack Penfold. A silent auction will follow.
April 2 @ 7:00 pm – (Broad View Church Hall) Show & Tell night on the themes of the Letter ‘X’ and/or ‘Europe.’ Reg Smart will discuss stamp perforations, gauges & how to use them. Auction to follow.
April 17 @ 7:00 pm – (Windsor Park) Our annual spring mega-auction with 200 lots on offer.
History
On September 15, 2023, members voted to merge the Vancouver Island Philatelic Society (formed in 1931) and the Greater Victoria Philatelic Society (formed in 1939) into a new organization to be known as the Victoria Stamp Club. For more details of the early history of the two Societies, see these short articles. The Victoria Stamp Club is Chapter No. 32 of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada.
