Fanny Bay Filatelic Society, Fanny Bay and Ladysmith BC
The Fanny Bay Filatelic Society is an informal and sociable association of Vancouver Island Stamp Collectors who are serious about their collecting, and other good things in life. Their goal is to encourage a better understanding of the finer points of a serious stamp collection, while also enjoying good comestibles, fine ales in moderation, and companionship of the highest order.
FBFS meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at 12:30 pm. Currently, The Society alternates meetings between the much venerated Fanny Bay Inn (est. 1938), in Fanny Bay, BC, and The Fox and Hounds British Style Pub in Ladysmith. Both these hostelries provide, for consumption, an adequate supply of marine molluscs, both cooked or au naturel, a plentiful selection of other marine based protein, and a goodly selection of handcrafted malted beverages of the finest quality.
The first meeting for 2026 is January 8th at the Fox and Hounds pub in Ladysmith.
Each month a topic is chosen, and members are encouraged to bring an example from their philatelic collection relating to said topic with which to regale, and educate the members. The objective being to expand knowledge of this admirable pursuit. Such intellectual stimulation generally lasts about two hours.
Membership of The Society is by invitation only. Said invitation, or more information about The Society, may be obtained by contacting any member. There is no charge for the privilege of belonging to this august body. Carpooling to meetings is encouraged.

Meetings – are at the Royal Canadian Legion, Mt. Benson Branch, 1630 East Wellington Road, Nanaimo, BC on the second Monday of the month, for holiday Mondays we meet on the third Monday of the month, September to June at 1:00 pm. No meetings are held in July or August.

Strait Stamp Society, Sequim WA
Meetings are on the first Thursday of every month at the Sequim Library between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm, located at 630 North Sequim Avenue.
Meetings consist of show and tell of philatelic items, presentations of topics of interest to collectors, American Philatelic Society slide shows, and items put up for auction by the members. Refreshments are provided. There is also a bimonthly silent auction. There are no dues; however, donations are always appreciated. Visitors always welcome.
