No. 7 - Salisbury, Great Britain to Rotterdam, Holland

Dated 11 May, 1940, this cover was sent to the London Censor Office where the PC 66 closed label was attached by censor #1147. The cover was then sent to the London Post Office where a rectangular hand stamp "NO SERVICE/RETURN TO SENDER" was applied. It was then returned to its sender.

Holland was invaded by Germany on 10 May, 1940 and capitulated on 14 May, 1940 The mail service suspension was lifted in 1945, after Holland was liberated.
