Dated 03 April, 1940, this cover was sent to the Liverpool Censor Office where the P.C. 66 closer label was attached by Censor #1688. Denmark was occupied by Germany on 09 April, 1940. At some point on its journey, the cover was halted and sent to the Liverpool Post Office where two hand stamps were applied. "POSTAL SERVICE SUSPENDED" and "RETURN TO SENDER". It was then returned to its sender. There are no backstamps.
Mail Service to Denmark didn't resume until it was liberated in May, 1945.
