Bex Morley, a graphic artist from Maple Bay, was selected to create the annual Christmas stamp for Canada Post this year.
In an interview with the Victoria Times-Colonist, Morley said she wanted the design to convey a feeling of Christmas nostalgia and innocence. You can read more about her and her work here. The stamp is a Permanent value denomination for domestic use and is available in a booklet of twelve.

Canada Post has issued a commemorative Christmas stamp every year since 1964. In the first few years, there were two postage rates: 3¢ for an unsealed envelope containing a Christmas card and 5¢ for a sealed envelope. Of course, over time the aesthetics of the designs have changed a lot. The first few years were issued when most postal stamps were printed by engraving and they soon moved on to the lithographic process. By the 2000s, most stamps were designed digitally. Here’s a selection from the past sixty years.
